Le Village des Antiquaires, situé sur le boulevard circulaire, était à l’origine, les entrepôts des transports SAVERON, ancien relais de poste.
En 1979,
Patrick JAVOUHEY, ancien élève des Beaux Arts de Dijon, entreprend la réhabilitation de l’ensemble, resté en l’état, pour y créer son
magasin de matériaux anciens. La mise en place des locaux dure près de trois ans.
En Juin 1983, Patrick JAVOUHEY construit le Village des Antiquaires et réunit, sur ce même site,
sept antiquaires spécialisés dans les meubles régionaux, argenterie et bibelots. Un restaurant s’ouvre dans les anciennes écuries.
Dans ce même temps, Patrick JAVOUHEY fait évoluer son magasin dans la décoration intérieure et extérieure, ainsi que dans la pierre reconstituée où il fut l’un de
s précurseurs dans la fabrication de copie d’éléments anciens (dallages, piliers, cheminées, bassins…)
Il ouvre également
sa galerie de peinture où il expose ses toiles. Ce lieu est devenu aujourd’hui incontournable à Beaune et en Bourgogne. Les produits exposés, l’accueil, font de cet endroit
le site privilégié de la clientèle avertie française et étrangère.
En 2005, il s’entoure de
Jean-Christophe ROUSSEAU, spécialisé dans la dorure à la Feuille, et qui, en 2006, ouvre
Le Musée de la Feuille d’Or. Heureuse initiative qui va apporter une activité complémentaire à cet endroit d’exception.

« Le Village des Antiquaires » located on a circular boulevard, was initially SAVERON’ s warehouses, to be exact, a former coaching inn.
In 1979, Patrick JAVOUHEY, former student of Dijon’s Beaux Arts, started the restoration of the edifices in place, and ultimately inaugurated a shop, selling ancient materials. The works lasted for about 3 years.
In June 1983, Patrick JAVOUHEY built the « Village des Antiquaires » and reunited on the very site seven antique-dealers, specialized in local furniture, silverware, and bibelots. A restaurant was also opened on the location of the former barns.
Patrick JAVOUHEY’ s line of business also expanded towards interior and exterior designs, renovation of ancient stones, thus being one of the fist forerunners for the reconstruction of ancient elements (paving, pillars, mantelpieces, basins etc.).
At the same time, he opened an art gallery where he exposed his own paintings. This site is, beyond doubt, one of the most popular in Beaune and also in Burgundy. Due to the products displayed and the welcoming atmosphere, the site became one of the most favorite locations for the enthusiastic clientele, both French and foreign.
In 2005 Patrick J. initiated a collaboration with Jean-Christophe ROUSSEAU, a specialist in gold leaf gilding; the latter opens in 2006 “Le Musée de la Feuille d’Or” ( The Gold Leaf Museum). This remarkable initiative brings a complementary activity to this special place. ..
